Abstract

Harm reduction is a broad term for the many ways we reduce harm relating to substance use. Stigma can exist even within substance use programs. Understanding the neurobiology of addiction can encourage better harm reduction practices to keep people safe in programs and in communities.

Objectives

  • Learn how harm reduction improves the quality of substance use services
  • Identify missed opportunities to reduce risks associated with substance use
  • Understand barriers to accessing harm reduction resources

Free CE credit of 1.0 hour for AMA, ANCC, and LSW/LCW/LPC/LMFT will be offered to those who attend.

Requirements include attendance for the duration of the session and completion of a course evaluation provided at the end of the session.
