Why dispose of unused drugs in pouches?
Using drug deactivation pouches to dispose of prescription and other drugs is better for the environment and helps to reduce the risk of:
- Drugs being taken by a child or other vulnerable person.
- Using the drug illicitly or dangerously.
- Using it to manufacture other drugs, some of which increase overdose deaths.
How does safe drug disposal with a pouch work?
- Follow the directions on the pouch. If used correctly, the substance will become unusable in the pouch.
- Throw the pouch away in the trash.
